Race 4 – Race results!
Balgone 10k & 5k
The first race of 2018 was welcomed in with a clear cold and crisp morning at Balgone Estate, just south of North Berwick. Whilst the cows on the farm were fed their pre race brekkie, runners began to arrive on site and the buzz of a FoxTrail race ensued!
Following last years addition of the 5k series we always look forward to the double race days. The combination of runners from all different areas and different stages in their running lives makes for a great atmosphere. As always the 5k race set of first at 9am and the 10k race started at 9.15.
A cold and quick course on what is usually muddy and slow saw the first 5k male runner Robert Henry finishing in a time of 20.49. The real star of the show following hot on his heals in a time of 23.05 was the young Flora Henry! The father daughter duo topping the podium was a first for FoxTrail! Now Flora the question is…. can you beat your dad!?
The 10k race saw some familiar faces that have been battling out at the top of the series standings this year and last! The exceptionally speedy Nicola Duncan brought it home for the girls in a time of 45.11, and Andrew Fallas for the boys in a time of 39.17.
A huge thank you to James Grant-Suttie the owner of Balgone Estate for the use of his land, a real gem in the East Lothian countryside!
