Foxtrail | Race 5 – HALF MARATHON
FoxTrail is the Winter Running series based in and around the beautiful Foxlake Adventures in Dunbar, East Lothian. The five race series, set to the backdrop of East Lothian’s most iconic beaches, estuaries and coastline, will be centred primarily on the East Neuk of the county between Lochhouses and Belhaven beach, utilising what must be some of the most scenic trail routes in the country.

A new distance in the series this year is the launch of the Harvest Moon Half Marathon. For the past two years this has been an epic 20K race with all elements thrown at it, snow, sleet, rain, and wind, you name it, we’ve had it! Launching from the Harvest Moon Treehouses this race has been a series highlight for many of our runners in past years. And this year we have launched the enhanced version by upping the distance up to Half Marathon (21.1K). It is sure to be up there with some of the most challenging Half Marathons the UK has to offer.

The route will take in some spectacular views of the coast, snaking through mature woodland, farm paths and clifftop viewpoints, not to mention some deep river crossings.  Hold onto some energy for the final 3K stretch as it drops down onto the sand at Tyninghamme Beach with the final river crossing of the Peffer Burn to finish… getting wet on this one is inevitable! Certainly not one for the faint hearted, trail running shoes are recommended to cope with the variety of terrains.

With finishers medals for all runners in the Half marathon and a classic FoxTrail photo-op at the Peffer Burn we promise you will be delighted with this as the pinnacle of the FoxTrail series.

Entry Fee £27.50

Please note that there will be a mixture of different and challenging terrain on the route and conditions will be muddy, soft and very slippy in areas and a relatively large section will be on the sand. We would recommend using trail running shoes for the race.
