FOXTRAIL WINTER RUNNING SERIES,
RACE FIVE HALF MARATHON, HARVEST MOON
The Harvest Moon Half Marathon has grown from an epic 21.1km race to a half marathon distance. This year we see the third annual Harvest Moon Half Marathon and it is fair to say we are familiar with the true force of the Scottish weather on the East Coast. All the elements are thrown in on this exposed race, we’ve had; snow, sleet, rain, and wind. You name it, we’ve had it! Setting off from Harvest Moon Treehouses, this race has been the series highlight for many of our runners, providing a physical and mental challenge as one of Scotland’s toughest half marathons!
The route will provide; spectacular coastal views, mature woodland trail, farm paths, clifftop viewpoints, and more. Hold on to some energy for the final 3km stretch as it drops down onto the sand at Tyninghame Beach and the Peffer Burn river crossing…getting wet on this one is inevitable! Certainly not one for the faint hearted, trail running shoes are recommended to cope with the variety of terrains.
Positioned late in the series, runners can use the first 4 races as training for the Harvest Moon Half, we assure you – this is one to be proud of! There are medals for all runners that finish the race and a classic FoxTrail photo-op at Peffer Burn. We promise you will be delighted with this race as the pinnacle of the FoxTrail series.
Generously sponsoring the series is Harvest Moon Holidays, the beautiful hand built Tree-Houses are situated at the start line of the event and a perfect spot to stay the evening before/ after. Harvest Moon are generously offering a 15% discount to any FoxTrail runners over the weekend of the 2nd/3rd of February.

Please note that there will be a mixture of different and challenging terrain on the route and conditions will be muddy, soft and very slippy in areas and a relatively large section will be on the sand. We would recommend using trail running shoes for the race.
