Foxtrail | Race 2 – Night 10K
FoxTrail is the Winter Running series based in and around the beautiful Foxlake Adventures in Dunbar, East Lothian. The five race series, set to the backdrop of East Lothian’s most iconic beaches, estuaries and coastline, will be centred primarily on the East Neuk of the county between Lochhouses and Belhaven beach, utilising what must be some of the most scenic trail routes in the country.

Race two is something special…it’s in the dark, and its Saltire themed! This is a new and exciting way to celebrate Saltire Week. East Lothian Council are supporting the night time 10K as part of Saltire Week. With a party atmosphere during and after the race this is a 10K like no other! Why not get involved with our blue and white theme or add a splash of tartan to your usual running attire. Look forward to the woods being lit up blue and white and music from the DJ as you pass HQ at the mid point.

The Boardside cafe will be open with some Scottish treats for hungry runners and spectators!

It’s time to don the head torch and join the ranks of over 150 runners under the stars as you meander through trails surrounding Foxtrail HQ.

Route Description

The route is made up of a 5K loop that will be run twice, giving runners the opportunity to check in at HQ and be spurred on by the DJ and supporters, this is also a good opportunity to challenge your first 5K split time. As this route is in the dark you will need to keep your wits about you. The route is mostly farm trails and woodland areas so the terrain will be loose gravel and grass underfoot, and it wouldn’t be FoxTrail without getting a bit wet in our water splash! This route will be more heavily marshalled than the daytime routes and signage will be in more detail. Despite this it is still important to study the route map prior to the race. This route is many a FoxTrail runner’s favourite race, and with the addition of the Saltire theme this will be one to remember!

Extra kit will be necessary for this race, see the Kit List section for more details.

Early bird entry fee £17.50 // £100 for full 6 race series entry

Early bird ends 1st September 2017

Full Price after Early Bird ends- £20

Please note that there will be a mixture of different and challenging terrain on the route and conditions will be muddy, soft and very slippy in areas. As this race is in the dark a head torch is mandatory  and we would recommend using trail running shoes for the race.
