Race 1 – Race results!

13k & 5k

For the first races of the series we could not have hoped for a better day! The rain clouds that had threatened in the morning gave way to a beautiful blue sky day, and it was even pretty warm… Sunny Dunny doing us proud even into November. The huge success of the series last year has filtered down to this year and we have seen an incredible number of entrants to the races in 2017/18. Lots of familiar faces we have come to know well in FoxTrails life, and plenty of new faces spicing up the results and pushing the boundaries of last years times!

We are incredibly impressed with the number of runners who competed in the 5k events last year and are now stepping the game up and competing in the full series! The huge range of runners was as diverse as ever, there really is a place for everyone in our races, and the support and camaraderie that is shown before, during and after the races is incredible.

The 13k race showed some new faces who proved to be speed demons from the start line! In the mens category especially we are seeing some new blood ready to ruffle the feathers of the top 10 guys from last years series. For the women, we are seeing some familiar faces and some new. Last years overall series winner came in 3rd place on Saturday, the 2nd place woman came 2nd in one of the races last year and Saturdays first place woman snapped up two first lst places and a 4th in last years series… so ladies… its looking like its gong to be close, we are looking forward to seeing new faces and old challenging these girls!

The 5k race is similar with both old faces and new competing for the top spots. Saturday saw the largest 5k race we have ever had with 64 runners taking part on the day. A big shout out to the girls with a massive 45 girls taking part!!! GIRL POWER! The next race in the 5k series is a new one this year… it’s time to get the head torches out with the night time 5k on the 1st December getting close!

We will see you all on the 1st December for our Night tie 10K and Night time 5k! And for all those slightly insane who have signed up for our NOCTURNAL… see you on the 2nd!
